- Ranthambhore and Agra 5 days - from Delhi
Taking the Golden Temple Mail train from Delhi you will arrive in Ranthambhore National Park - the former hunting grounds of the Jaipur Maharajas. Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957 the park is not only home to the majestic Tiger but also sambar, cheetal, leopard, python, cobra and fresh water crocodile. Walking is prohibited- for obvious reasons - so you will explore the park through guided game drives in the morning and evening. Spend longer in Ranthambhore or continue onwards by train to Agra and the architectural marvel that is the Taj Mahal. You will also visit the Agra Fort, Itimad-Ud-Daulah and Sikandara, the tomb of Emperor Akbar, before returning for a final day in Delhi.
- Kerala Province 9-11 days - from Cochin
Cochin, has emerged as one of the most important cities on the west coast of India. Exploring the city you will find churches, palaces and synagogues along with the Kochi Fort where local fisherman earn their livelihood using traditional chinese nets. Spend the evening watching stories from Indian mythology unfold through the Kathakali Dance performance before moving up to the hill station of Munnar. From here you can explore the Eravikulam National Park; home to the largest population of the Atlas moth. Cruise the Periyar lake to observe elephants taking a well deserved drink before visiting the ornithologist's paradise of Kumarakom- a favourite haunt for migratory birds such as egrets and Siberian storks. An overnight trip on a house boat (Kettuvalam) brings you to Marari Beach; a place of tranquility. Partake in yoga classes, explore the beaches and villages or lounge by the pool with a cocktail. A great way to relax after all your exertions.
- Madurai Temples 2 days - from Chennai
Madurai, originally called Kadambavanam or forest of Kadamba, is the oldest city in the Tamil Nadu and one of Southern India's great temple towns. After a short flight from Chennai you spend the evening relaxing at your hotel before a day of sightseeing at the Sri Meenakshi Temple complex; one of the oldest and largest Dravidian temple complexes in the country. You will also visit the Thirumalai Nayak Mahal to witness the temple closing ceremony before a final evening in Madurai. Fly back to Chennai in the morning.
